Slaughter Highlights Resources for Businesses Impacted by COVID-19, Civil Unrest

CHICAGO – To help protect the economic livelihood of communities across the state, state Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, is highlighting the second round funding for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s (DCEO) Business Interruption Grant Program (BIG), which will help provide much-needed relief to businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and recent civil unrest.

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – Continuing his advocacy for mental health and in order to increase awareness during Suicide Prevention Month, state Rep. Dan Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is reminding neighbors of the importance of improving and maintaining their mental health. Last May, Didech supported legislation that updated state policies to include updated research and additional measures related to suicide prevention, education, and treatment.

Crespo Announces Release of 2020 Make S.A.F.E. Report to Prevent Sexual Abuse in Schools

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – After shocking revelations of sexual abuse and failures to provide protection and support for children in Chicago Public Schools, state Rep. Fred Crespo, D-Hoffman Estates, passed legislation and created a task force to address issues surrounding sexual abuse in schools. Following the release of the Make Sexual and Severe Physical Abuse Fully Extinct (Make S.A.F.E) Task Force final report, Crespo is planning to introduce legislation to adopt the task force’s recommendations.
