CHICAGO – State Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, was recently designated a Lifetime Environmental Champion by the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) for his commitment to supporting environmental protection legislation in the Illinois General Assembly.
“As a father, I know that protecting our environment and ensuring a greener future for generations to come is paramount,” said Slaughter. “Our children deserve to live in a world with abundant greenspace, clean water and a government that takes climate change seriously. There is too much at stake, and we cannot afford to fail at implementing policies that would help our environment.”
Slaughter was recently name a Lifetime Environmental Champion by the IEC due to his unwavering support of environmentally conscious legislation such as the Clean Energy Jobs Act. Since Slaughter’s time in office, his IEC score card has not fallen below 95% because of his steadfast support of measures that protect and support our environment.
