GURNEE, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, attended the dedication and memorial ceremony to designate a portion of Interstate 94 in honor of fallen Illinois State Police Trooper Gerald Ellis in Green Oaks on Monday. The dedication comes following Mason’s passage of her legislation naming the stretch of Interstate 94 between mile markers 16.5 and 17 as Trooper Gerald W. Ellis Memorial Highway.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – In response to a recent kennel fire that resulted in the death of over 30 dogs, state Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, supported legislation to require dog kennels in Illinois to install fire alarm systems that notify local emergency responders even when kennel staff is not present.
