CHICAGO – State Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, D-Chicago, co-lead with state Sen. Rob Martwick, D-Chicago, hosted an Environmental Town Hall with the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC),and other partners, to discuss local environmental issues and update community residents on House Bill 3624, the Clean Energy Jobs Act.

“Our constituents have expressed strong concerns about climate issues and we wanted to bring local solutions and programs into focus,” said LaPointe. “The Clean Energy Jobs Act is a critical bill that will move Illinois toward a sustainable energy path for the future, moving us away from our reliance on fossil fuels and putting direct investment into green jobs.”

Representative LaPointe and Senator Martwick co-hosted the Environmental Town Hall to hear directly from their constituents on environmental issues that impact the district including flooding, clean drinking water, and land conservation. The event also covered issues like transitioning to new energy sources, saving money on electricity, and updating residents on the new Clean Energy and Jobs Act.
