Mason Introduces Measure to Reduce Tax on Diapers and Baby Formula

GURNEE, Ill. – As a strong advocate for the needs of middle and working-class families, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, introduced House Bill 2387, a measure that would lower the sales tax rate on diapers, baby formula and breastfeeding supplies from 6.25% to 1%.

Tarver Introduces Bill to Eliminate Standardized Testing for Pre-School Enrollment, Enhance Opportunities for Low-Income and Minority Students

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – To ensure academic success for all Chicago Public School (CPS) students, especially those of a low-income or minority status, state Rep. Curtis J. Tarver II, D-Chicago, has introduced a new measure that will prohibit CPS from requiring students entering pre-K to take a standardized test to be admitted to a selective enrollment school.
