CICERO, Ill. — State Rep. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, is hosting two Back to Business (B2B) Grant Workshops. The first event will take place Friday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at her district office located at 6117 West Cermak Road in Cicero. The second will take place on Monday, May 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 4209 Joliet Avenue in Lyons.

WAUKEGAN, Ill. – Aiming to address an issue that often disproportionately impacts people and families of color, state Rep. Rita Mayfield, D-Waukegan, has passed a bill which would prevent insurance companies from refusing to insure a person, or from charging higher rates or imposing different terms of coverage, based only on the breed of a dog that person owns.
