Hernandez, Villanueva Invite Local Residents for Discussion of 2020 Census at Mi Tierra en la Villita

CHICAGO – To highlight the importance of participating in the 2020 Census, state Reps. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, and Celina Villanueva, D-Chicago are working with fellow Latino Caucus members and the Illinois Latino Caucus Foundation to host the Census 2020 Tour, which will include stops across various Latino owned businesses in the Chicagoland area.

Walker to Host Clean Energy Town Hall

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – State Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, is inviting residents to a town hall on clean energy and the Illinois Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA) on Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, located at 500 N. Dunton Ave. This event will also feature representatives from clean energy and organizations such as the Illinois Environmental Council, the Sierra Club, the Citizens Utility Board and Elevate.

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – As a part of her continued commitment to promote good government and save taxpayer dollars, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D- Edwardsville, refused to accept the legislative pay increase included in the state budget.  Instead, Stuart chose to put the pay increase back into the community by donating to various local organizations.

Didech Applauds Signing of Bill Banning Toxic Chemical Found in Receipts

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Daniel Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is applauding the signing of legislation he sponsored to ban the harmful chemical Bisphenol A (BPA) from being used in in the production of thermal paper commonly used for receipts. BPA has been linked to higher rates of cancer, among other harmful health effects.
