GURNEE, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, donated school supplies to Lake County Black Lives Matter’s 2nd Annual Back-to-School Block Party in Zion on Saturday.

“Our community is fortunate to have so many organizations focused on building relationships and giving back,” said Mason. “I’d like to thank Lake County Black Lives Matter for putting together such an uplifting back-to-school event for our kids, and I am grateful for this opportunity to support them.”

Over the past month, Mason’s office has been collecting school supplies to give to families in need. Mason donated a collection of backpacks, folders, notebooks, pencil bags, erasers, pencil sharpeners and markers to the event.
