Lilly Measure Capping Insulin Prices for Patients Now in Effect
CHICAGO – Under a law now in effect from state Rep. Camille Y. Lilly, D-Chicago, out-of-pocket costs to patients for a one-month supply of lifesaving insulin are capped at $100 per month.
Mason Promotes Lake County COVID-19 AllVax Portal
GURNEE, Ill. – Ahead of the distribution of coronavirus vaccines to the general public, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is encouraging residents to register with the Lake County Health Department’s AllVax system. The department created AllVax to allow individuals to register to receive a notification when they become eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine.

Gong-Gershowitz Opens Free COVID-19 Testing Site in Glenview
GLENVIEW, Ill. – State Rep. Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz, D-Glenview, is combatting the growth of the coronavirus pandemic with a free COVID-19 testing site located in the Flick Park Field House at 3600 Glenview Road in Glenview. It will be open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. Building on successful processes used in other districts, Northshore Clinical Labs is running the site.

Stuart-Backed Insulin Price Cap to Take Effect
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – To make lifesaving medication more affordable for diabetic Illinoisans, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, supported a new measure to cap patients’ out-of-pocket insulin costs at $100 for a 30-day supply. The new state law takes effect on Jan. 1.

Gordon-Booth Secures Health and Safety Resources for Peoria Public Schools and Wraparound Center

Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria, announced that she has helped the Peoria Public Schools (PPS) secure nearly $200,000 in state funding for personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect against the COVID-19 virus. The grant funding also includes funding for the food pantry at the PPS Wraparound Center.
