Kifowit Connects Key Groups to Launch Support Program for Disabled Veterans

Aurora, Ill – A new initiative aimed at providing vital support to disabled veterans and adults with disabilities in the Fox Valley Area area is set to be unveiled at the upcoming Community Friday lunch event. This innovative venture, born from a collaboration between Valley Sheltered Workshop (VSW) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), represents a significant step forward in addressing the needs of some of our community’s most vulnerable members.

CHICAGO – In advance of International Overdose Awareness Day, state Rep. La Shawn K. Ford, D- Chicago, will join the Illinois Harm Reduction and Recovery Coalition for a round table panel discussion Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Healthcare Alternative Systems Community Room, located at 4734 W. Chicago Ave. on Chicago’s West Side.

DISTRICT 84 TOUCH-A-TRUCK EVENT TO OFFER FREE CHILD SAFETY ID CARDS

Aurora, Ill – Illinois State Representative Stephanie Kifowit (D-Oswego) is proud to announce that this year’s Kids Expo and Touch-A-Truck event will feature an opportunity for families to obtain free Kids ID Cards, thanks to a new partnership with the Illinois Tollway. The child identification cards are a simple and proven way to keep kids safe, and will be made on-site at the event scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, at the Phillips Park Aquatic Center in Aurora. The ID Cards are just the newest addition to what will be an exciting day filled with big rigs, emergency vehicles, a helicopter landing, and more for children of all ages to safely explore.
