Mason Highlights Distribution of COVID-19 Business Grants, Calls for Additional Economic Relief

GURNEE, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is commending the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s administration of more than $800,000 in Business Interruption Grants to businesses in her district. The grants were awarded to businesses that experienced operational disruptions due to COVID-19. Mason is also advocating for the creation of new emergency funding programs to support small businesses through the end of the pandemic.

She previously served the final days the term of her predecessor state Rep. Yoni Pizer. This is her first step towards completing a legislative agenda focused on securing reproductive rights, ensuring affordable health care for all Illinoisans and assisting local businesses following the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, took the oath of office and was sworn into the Illinois House of Representatives for the 102nd General Assembly on Wednesday, pledging to fight for COVID relief for small businesses and working families, improve economic development, create good-paying jobs, and refuse a taxpayer funded pension.
