JOLIET, Ill. — As one of the legislators serving the City of Joliet, Assistant Majority Leader Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, procured hundreds of thousands of dollars from the capital projects bill to improve aspects of the Joliet’s infrastructure to increase safety and efficiency. Manley Supports Legislation to Expand Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training to Emergency Responders

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – To ensure quality care for the growing number of seniors and individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia diagnoses, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, co-sponsored a bill that would require first responders, such as paramedics and EMTs, to complete at least one hour of training on the diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with cognitive impairments.

JOLIET, Ill. – In partnership with the Joliet Fire Department (JFD), State Representative Natalie Manley today announced a pilot project to provide free Deterra Drug Deactivation and Disposal kits to the public to assist community efforts in combatting the opioid crisis. The kits, which safely destroy unwanted and expired medications, are now available at 12 locations throughout the city.
