ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – To ensure that nonprofits who assist community members are able to continue their work, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, is encouraging small nonprofits to apply for a grant through the Charitable Trust Stabilization Program.

“Nonprofits play a vital role in providing aid to residents throughout our community,” said Manley. “With the many critical services that they offer, providing assistance to these nonprofits can help them continue to make a positive impact for many in our area. I highly encourage nonprofits that provide food or housing assistance to apply for a grant through the Charitable Trust program and get additional resources to help further their goal of helping those in our community.”

Since 2017, the Charitable Trust Stabilization Program has provided nearly $4.3 million to over 180 nonprofit organizations throughout Illinois. The program provides grants to small nonprofits with annual budgets of $1 million or less and with the equivalent of one full-time employee. Grants are awarded to nonprofits that provide food, housing, or economic and workforce development. During this grant cycle, nonprofits that provide food or housing assistance will be eligible for monetary awards of up to $20,000. The deadline to apply for a grant is March 31, 2024. For more information or to apply, please visit the Illinois State Treasurer’s website at illinoistreasurer.gov/Office_of_the_Treasurer/Charitable_Trust.

“Over the last few years, we have seen how important it is to have nonprofits that are able to help ensure that everyone’s basic needs are being met and that no one is falling through the cracks,” said Manley. “I would like to thank Treasurer Frerichs for providing our small nonprofits with this opportunity to strengthen their organizations and help expand their work to assist residents in our community and throughout our state.”
