Biography

Lilian Jimenez is an attorney that has focused her work on labor and immigration policy and advocacy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Latin American and Latino Studies and law degree from DePaul University. She is a former Chief of Staff for Jesus Chuy Garcia at the Cook County Board of Commissioners and previously served as the Director of the Fair Labors Standards Division of the Illinois Department of Labor. Most recently Jimenez served as the administrator for the Office of Welcoming Centers for Refugee and Immigrant Services at the Illinois Department of Human Services. Lilian lives in West Humboldt Park with her husband and son.

The summit was held on May 12th and 13th at the Crowne Plaza Springfield – Convention Center.

CHICAGO – State Rep. Lilian Jiménez, D-Chicago, alongside other legislators, elected officials and organizations are hosting a free community event to ride bikes, eat food and enjoy music. The event will be held in Chicago’s Northwest side neighborhoods of Logan Square, Hermosa and Belmont Cragin on Saturday May 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will begin and end at the Logan Square Plaza.

The bill ensures that retailers across Illinois adopt fair and transparent return policies by prohibiting blanket “no return” rules and requiring options such as store credit or exchanges for unused, unopened items.
