SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Alarmed by the months long delays residents have experienced trying to secure professional licenses necessary for their employment, state Rep. Mary Gill, D-Chicago, recently supported a measure to require the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to modernize its outdated computer systems, as well as use discretion to extend license expirations and renewal deadlines for a year.
