CHICAGO – To help residents better understand their property taxes and how to appeal, state Rep. La Shawn K. Ford, D-Chicago, is teaming up with the Illinois Association of Black Real Estate Professionals and Cook County Commissioner Larry Rogers, Jr. for a property tax appeal forum and fair Saturday, Dec. 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chicago Public Library’s Austin Branch, located at 5615 W. Race Ave. in Chicago.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Mary Gill, D-Chicago, recently supported an effort to ensure all retired Chicago Police Department officers receive a 3% non-compounded cost of living adjustment (COLA), replacing existing statute that provides a lower, 1.5% non-compounded COLA for officers born after Jan. 1, 1966.
