Stuart to Hold Monthly Evening Office Hours

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – To accommodate working families’ busy schedules, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, will be extending walk-in hours at her constituent service office until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20. She plans to continue this practice at least once a month to help residents access state services outside traditional business hours.

Didech Legislation to Shed Light on Politicians’ True Compensation Signed Into Law

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – Legislation passed by state Rep. Daniel Didech (D – Buffalo Grove) to increase transparency within county government was recently signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker. House Bill 56, now signed into law as Public Act 102-0048, will ensure that taxpayers are informed about stipends paid to countywide office holders, like Sheriffs, Treasurers, and Clerks. Under this new law, county boards must now include a list of all stipends paid to countywide elected officials in its ordinance setting the compensation for those individuals.

ROCKFORD, Ill. – As part of his efforts to support those who have been affected by crimes, state Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, helped pass legislation that was recently signed into law by Gov. Pritzker that expands the Crime Victim’s Compensation (CVC) Program, which provides funds to victims of violent crimes and their families that incurred financial costs as a result of the crime.
