PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – State Rep. Mary Gill, D-Chicago, is encouraging residents to check out Community High School District (CHSD) 218’s High 5 Heights, a new store in Palos Heights which expands and enhances the district’s Adult Transition Program for individuals with special needs.

“I’m excited to see the expansion of this valuable program further into our community,” Gill said. “This is a unique experience you’re unlikely to find elsewhere, and it’s incredibly beneficial for participating students who are able to better develop their personal and social skills. I’m grateful for the teachers, parents, CHSD leadership, students and everyone else who had a hand in making this a reality.”

High 5 Heights is the latest development of a program started by CHSD 218 in 2014 for students in the Adult Transition Program. Focused on apparel, embroidery and other items, the business aims to teach students essential entrepreneurial skills that will help individuals long term and assist them with future employment. The High 5 Heights retail location can be found at 12213 S. Harlem Ave. in Palos Heights, and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is also open most Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
