CHICAGO – Seeking input on the issues and concerns of local older adults, state Rep. Mary Gill, D-Chicago, and state Sen. Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago, are inviting area residents to join their Senior Advisory Board’s first meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 1-2 p.m. at their district office, located at 10400 S. Western Ave. in Chicago.

“It’s critical that Springfield is aware of and responsive to the needs of older adults,” Gill said. “This advisory board is open to any older adult, and is intended to be a casual meeting where we can discuss challenges facing families, gather ideas for proposed legislation and look for opportunities for collaboration.”

The meeting is free and open to older adults represented by Gill and Cunningham, and participants are encouraged to share their thoughts on any state issue. Gill and Cunningham intend for the advisory board to meet regularly, with additional dates to be scheduled in the months ahead. Interested residents can RSVP by emailing RepMaryGill@gmail.com or by calling 773-445-8128.

“Even if you can’t make this meeting, we plan to meet on a regular basis moving forward,” Gill said. “My office is always available to listen to resident concerns and assist with state issues, so please do not hesitate to connect.”
