Gill Reacts to Governor’s Budget Address, Highlights Need to Support Schools, Health Care and Law Enforcement

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Mary Gill, D-Chicago, issued the following statement Wednesday after Gov. J.B. Pritzker gave his annual budget address:

“I look forward to reviewing the governor’s proposal line-by-line, and seeing how we can put together a responsible budget that prioritizes our schools, invests in health care and supports our law enforcement. This has to be a balanced plan that respects taxpayers and understands the concerns of working families I hear from in our community. I have begun to engage local stakeholders on the priorities outlined today, and am optimistic we can develop an effective proposal that works to build a stronger Illinois for everyone.”
