CHICAGO – Reflecting her work and commitment to support survivors of domestic violence, state Rep. Mary Gill, D-Chicago, has been named to the leadership council of A New Direction, a domestic violence agency with the mission to provide counseling, education, advocacy and support for families in need.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to join the leadership council of this critically-important organization that does tremendous work for our community,” Gill said. “Domestic violence is a complex issue that requires awareness and attention. That’s why I’m focused on helping to secure resources that support our shared goal of helping every single individual break the cycle of violence.”
A New Direction helps connect survivors with assistance, including crisis intervention, counseling and referrals at no cost to clients. The leadership council Gill is joining includes community leaders who endorse the work of A New Direction as well as support their mission and vision.
