BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – Ensuring local seniors are able to access crucial state services offered by the Secretary of State in a convenient and timesaving manner, state Rep. Daniel Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is inviting them to join him and Vernon Township for a Super Mobile DMV event.

“A trip to the local DMV can be quite difficult for local seniors, especially if they need to be accompanied by someone else,” Didech said. “I appreciate Vernon Township’s efforts to make sure seniors in our community have access to crucial resources in an easy and efficient way.”

Local seniors in need of updating their driver’s license address will be able to do so at this event, however, proof of their address change is required. Additionally, while road tests will not be offered at this event, individuals over 65 will be able to receive a free lifetime State ID along with a refresher course on the Rules of the Road. Local seniors who apply for a new permanent driver’s license/ID will receive a temporary, secure paper card, which is valid for 90 days. They can expect to receive their high quality, secure driver’s license/ID via U.S. mail within 15 days.

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – State Rep. Dan Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is inviting all members of the community to an open house at his new district office this Saturday, Feb. 16.

“My office is open for the community whenever anybody needs help navigating state programs and services, or wants to share their thoughts on state or local issues,” Didech said. “This open house is an excellent opportunity for residents to learn about the programs my full-time constituents service office offers and meet the wonderful staff that helps me advocate for our community.”

The open house will occur at Didech’s full-time constituent service office, located in the Vernon Township Building, 3050 N. Main St in Buffalo Grove. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Residents are invited to stop by to familiarize themselves with Didech’s office, talk about legislation, and learn how he is fighting to make state government more effective for them.

“There are a lot of important issues coming before the Legislature this year and I want to make sure our community’s views are represented,” Didech said. “My office is a place where people can be open about what they want to see happen in Springfield and receive the assistance they need to navigate state government.”

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Committed to ensuring everyone has a safe and constructive work environment, state Rep. Dan Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is supporting legislation that would address harassment-related issues by developing model policies and best practices for employers.

“While the ‘Me Too’ movement has empowered survivors to come forward and hold people accountable, it’s clear that more needs to be done to ensure every workplace is safe,” Didech said. “Establishing a group whose purpose is to find solutions to address deeply embedded problems in our culture is a necessary step in the right direction.”

Didech was an early supporter of House Bill 905, which would create the Private Sector Workplace Anti-Harassment Task Force in order to develop model policies and practices for employers to combat harassment. The task force will work to address harassment-related issues in the workplace by outlining model policies and best practices to keep workplaces safe, such as methods for anonymous reporting, protection for retaliation, developing employee trainings, and empowering human resource departments. Additionally, it will focus on developing policies to protect groups that are historically more vulnerable to harassment for reasons such as race, sexual orientation, or immigration status.

“During my time as township supervisor, I took immediate action when survivors came forward to report their experiences,” Didech said. “Ensuring every resident in our state feels safe and supported in their workplace is a non-partisan issue, so I look forward to working with both Republicans and Democrats to get this and other vital pieces of legislation signed into law.”

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Dan Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, plans to provide a fresh perspective on ways to enact real property tax relief, as well as increase government transparency and accountability, as a member of the House Counties and Townships Committee and State Government Administration Committee.

“When I go to door-to-door and talk to families in my community, the biggest concern I hear is skyrocketing property taxes,” Didech said. “I hope to provide my colleagues some insight about how we were able to do lower taxes at the local level as we work to address the systemic issues facing Illinois.” 

Didech aims to bring his experience from his time as township supervisor to his new committee posts, offering insight on how he was able to lower property taxes through consolidation and cracking down on patronage hiring. In the coming weeks, Didech will also be introducing legislation to empower middle-class families to lower their local tax burden, as well as legislation to ensure politicians do not collect multiple public pensions and salaries.

Aside from his posts in the Counties and Townships and State Government Administration committees, Didech will also serve on the Energy & Environment and Judiciary-Civil committees.

“We must have a serious and open discussion about what can be done to ensure families are not forced out of their homes,” Didech said. “I look forward to working with all of my colleagues to find real solutions and move our state forward.”

Didech will host an open house at his new office in the Vernon Township Administrative Building, located at 3050 N. Main St. in Buffalo Grove, on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents are invited to visit the new office location to meet with Didech and his office staff, including community member Fabbi Vasquez who Didech hired to serve as his full-time district director.

Vasquez has lived in the Buffalo Grove community for 18 years, where she has worked as an administrative assistant for Vernon Township. During her time serving local families, Vasquez helped coordinate the yearly Thanksgiving Basket Program, the Adopt a Family Holiday Program, the Backpack Club Program, and the Book Drive. Vasquez is also fluent in Spanish, which will help ensure Didech is accessible to all families.

“I am committed to ensuring my office is accessible and responsive to the concerns of all communities,” Didech said. “I look forward to meeting local families to talk about what we could do to address the issues facing our state and community.”

 “I am humbled that my neighbors placed their trust in me to bring the positive change we accomplished in Vernon Township to state government, where I will continue to work to reduce the tax burden on middle-class families, protect our communities from senseless gun violence, and fight back against Donald Trump’s extreme agenda.

“Illinois faces many challenges after four years of reckless leadership coupled with a president who has fought to take health care away from women and people with pre-existing conditions. Getting our state back on track will not be easy, but I’m ready to work with both Democrats and Republicans to make real progress on the issues affecting families across Illinois. Over the next few months, I will be introducing legislation that will provide real property tax relief to middle-class families by empowering them to make government smaller, as well as protect children and their schools from senseless gun violence.
