Robinson, Jr., D-Chicago, will advocate for local priorities by serving on the following committees during the new legislative session: Appropriations – Public Safety, Financial Institutions, Insurance, Personnel and Pensions and Prescription Drug Affordability.

“Each bill must first be debated and voted on before it moves to the House of Representatives for full consideration,” said Robinson. “I look forward to being able to use my expertise as a small-business owner to make policy decisions and making sure our community’s voices are heard as legislation is considered in Springfield.”

While serving on these committees Robinson will prioritize legislation that will promote government transparency, improve best practices for small businesses, and ensure access to affordable health care.

“I look forward to use my position on these committees to make our communities safer, more business friendly, and improve the overall financial health of Illinois,” continued Robinson. “I will continue working with community leaders and other lawmakers to make Illinois a better place for all who live and work here.”

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Representative Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is announcing that he will be serving on the Cities & Villages; Counties & Townships; Elections & Campaign Finance; Government Consolidation; Insurance: Health & Life and State Government Administration in the 2017-18 sessions. Committees are one of the beginning steps in the law making process, and the members of each committee consider legislation before it goes to the full House for a vote.

“These committees are where the ideas and voices of those I meet through my events and door to door outreach come to fruition.” Yingling said. “By serving on committees like the State Government Administration and the newly formed Government Consolidation, I can continue to advance an agenda that saves taxpayers money and rid our government of excess and waste.”

Yingling, who represents central-western Lake County, was appointed Chairperson of the newly formed Government Consolidation Committee in the 100th General Assembly. While serving on these committees, Yingling will prioritize legislation that lessens tax burdens on hard working families, seniors and business owners. He will also continue to support policies that rid Lake County of duplicative layers of government and taxing bodies.

“Our state continues to have its challenges and many of our residents continue to be bogged down by excessive taxes,” Yingling said. “By setting aside our political differences and working with other representatives in committees, I am optimistic that we can move policy to the House floor that puts more money in taxpayers’ pockets.”
