AURORA, Ill. – Continuing her efforts to protect Veterans and provide much needed resources to Veterans who have service-related ailments, state Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, worked to pass a new law that creates an official task force to help solve disparities between state and federal issues regarding service-related ailments and disability compensation.
Kifowit Encourages Local and Small Businesses to Apply to the Illinois Back to Business Grant Program
AURORA, Ill. – In an effort to further support the local economy, state Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, encourages small and local businesses to apply for the Back to Business Grant Program, which has been set up to support the continued recovery of Illinois businesses. The application process formally opens August 18 for businesses to begin to apply.

Today, the House Veterans Affairs Committee held a hearing on the tragic, preventable COVID-19 outbreak at the LaSalle Veterans Home, which resulted in thirty-six saddening deaths. Witnesses from the hearing included deputy governor Sol Flores, Department of Veterans (IDVA) Affairs director Terry Prince and assistant director Anthony Vaughn, and Department of Public Health (IDPH) director Dr. Ngozi Ezike.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – In recognition of her support on issues impacting the motorcycling community in Illinois, state Rep. Stephanie Kifowit (D-Oswego) was named the 2020 ABATE Representative of the Year along with Rep. Tim Butler (R-Springfield) as the 2021 ABATE Representative of the Year. Kifowit was recognized during the group’s annual Ride to the Capital event on Sunday, which was postponed from last year as a result of the pandemic.
