GURNEE, Ill. – With the recent news of Winthrop Harbor’s North Point Marina ending its contract, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, has been working tirelessly to ensure this epicenter for businesses and recreational activities in her district remains open. Today, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) announced that there is an active procurement agreement underway that, if successful, will allow the marina to continue operations for the 2026 season.

GURNEE, Ill. – Illinois residents and property owners will be able to use geothermal energy systems for power—a more affordable, efficient, and environmentally-friendly power source—under a bill sponsored by state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, that was included in an energy omnibus bill (Senate Bill 25) passed Oct. 30.
