Jonathan is a certified Special Education Teacher and Special Needs Advocate helping individuals with ADHD, executive functioning issues and learning challenges improve personal, professional, and educational performance. He has a M.A. in Learning Disabilities/Behavioral Disorders from Northeastern Illinois University and a B.A. in Communication from DePaul University. Jonathan is on the Portes Foundation Board of Directors providing grants for medical and life-sciences research. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Illinois school districts would be prohibited from using isolated seclusion as a student discipline practice under legislation introduced by state Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Northbrook, in response to a recent investigative report detailing more than 20,000 incidents in which children were locked into closets and other designated seclusion spaces during the school day.
