RICHTON PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Chicago Heights, recently welcomed Illinois Municipal League (IML) Executive Director Brad Cole and local elected officials to discuss ways the state can reform its broken property tax system and better address important issues facing our communities – including better support for public safety and a restoration of the Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF).

Berwyn, IL – Today, Governor JB Pritzker signed into law five bills introduced by Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid (D-Bridgeview) that would ban cancer-causing chemicals from consumer products, enrich educational opportunities, protect students’ access to counseling services, and modernize our state’s technology (see below).

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – Working to keep firearms out of the wrong hands and prevent accidental shootings, state Rep. Maura Hirschauer, D-Batavia, successfully passed the Safe Gun Storage Act into law Monday. The new law works to keep guns out of the wrong hands, protect children from unintentional shootings, and track lost and stolen firearms by codifying ‘safe storage’ practices widely used by Illinois firearm owners.
