PEORIA, Ill. – With funding secured for a co-responder program to focus on behavioral health and social service coordination with violence survivors, state Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria, will highlight efforts to get the program running in Peoria with Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria, Peoria City/County Health Department Public Health Administrator Monica Hendrickson and other community leaders at a press conference scheduled for Friday.

Manley’s Legislation Creating “Grandparents Raising Grandchildren” Support Program Signed into Law

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – As part of her efforts to ensure that older adults have the resources they need, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, passed legislation creating the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Pilot Program, which was signed into law by Gov. JB Pritzker on Wednesday, Aug. 2. The program will begin on Jan. 1, 2024 and will connect Will County grandparents who are raising their grandchildren with relevant state-provided resources and services to ensure they are receiving the support they are entitled to.
