DES PLAINES, Ill. – In response to the horrific school shooting in Parkland, Florida, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, issued the following statement:
“Enough is enough. These senseless killings have to stop. How many more tragedies must we endure before we realize the need for common sense gun-control? The time for thoughts and prayers is now the time for action.
“We must focus on real change and work on common-sense solutions that are going to keep people safe. While Washington politicians refuse to take action, I have and will continue to do everything in my power to protect our families from heinous gun violence.
“I refuse to back down from this fight because there have been too many lives lost as a result of other politicians backing down. It is our responsibility to keep our children safe while they are at school and keep employees safe at work. So, again, thoughts and prayers are needed and extended to those families in Florida impacted by this violent massacre, but we must also fight for common-sense policies and change.”
