HILLSIDE, Ill. – To combat the freezing temperatures that are grappling Illinois, state Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, D-Hillside, is opening his constituent services office as a heating location for residents to warm up when they need, as well as highlighting local warming centers for anyone to utilize.
“No one should brace these dangerous temperatures by themselves, especially if they need some assistance staying warm in this weather,” said Welch. “My office will be open to anyone who needs to stop by and get out of the cold for a little bit.”
Welch’s office, which is located at 10055 W. Roosevelt Rd., Suite E in Westchester, will be available to anyone who may be in need of warming up in these freezing conditions. People who may be commuting to work, passing by and who are in need of warmth are encouraged to stop by Welch’s office or at the warming center in Melrose Park, located at 2701 W. Lake St. Information about additional warming center locations can be found at https://www2.illinois.gov/sites/KeepWarm/SitePages/WarmingCenters.aspx.
“We are going to face very frigid weather over the coming months,” Welch. “I encourage residents to check in frequently with loved ones and neighbors to make sure their homes are heated during the harsh winter weather.”
