BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – To provide job search tips to residents beginning second careers, looking to re-enter the workforce, and searching for a new job, state Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Buffalo Grove, is providing a free “back to work” seminar on Monday, Dec. 18 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Indian Trails Public Library, located at 355 Schoenbeck Rd. in Wheeling.
“Many people in the community that I speak with are searching for a new opportunity,” Carroll said. “But most don’t know where to start and are overwhelmed by the thought of a job search. This seminar is a great resource for those people.”
During the seminar, a local career coach will discuss becoming more knowledgeable about an industry or company, wearing proper business attire, gaining confidence during a job search or interview and managing one’s time during the job search. Local residents and job seekers are encouraged to bring a copy of their resume as well as any questions they might have regarding what employers look for when seeking potential employees. This event is free and open to the public.
“Today’s job market can be daunting for anyone,” Carroll continued. “That’s why a few helpful tips from an experienced career coach can make a major difference in the job search process.”
