JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Larry Walsh Jr., D-Elwood, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, state Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, D-Shorewood, and state Sen. Pat McGuire, D-Joliet, are making Veterans Day and honoring local heroes by hosting a Veteran Appreciation Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Stone City VFW Post 2199, located at 124 Stone City Drive in Joliet.
“This appreciation breakfast is one small way we can say thank you to the men and women who have helped defend our freedoms,” Walsh said. “I also want to give veterans the opportunity to connect with others who have also served and to allow them the chance to discuss their shared experiences.”
Walsh’s Veteran Appreciation Breakfast will be free for veterans and their families. Following the breakfast, attendees are then invited to travel to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, located at 20953 W. Hoff Road in Elwood, where a free tour of the cemetery will begin at 11 a.m. Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation to the cemetery.
It is asked that residents who wish to attend the breakfast please RSVP by contacting Walsh’s full-time constituent service office at 815-730-8600 or at StateRepLarryWalshJr@gmail.com.
