ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Following an eventful summer session that has seen a resolution to the budget crisis and passage of education funding reform, state Rep. John Connor, D-Lockport, joined local members of the Illinois General Assembly for a discussion with residents at a town hall meeting Tuesday evening in Bolingbrook.

“Since taking office this year, I have prioritized conversations with those I represent,” Connor said. “Our area’s delegation to Springfield shares that commitment, and I appreciate the residents who came out to express their views on a number of important issues our state and our community face, including education, public safety and the economy.”

Connor was joined in the town hall by state Sen. Pat McGuire, D-Joliet, state Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, D-Shorewood, and state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet. The elected officials discussed their positions on the budget and education reform, as well as their thoughts on recent vetoes from the governor. Connor reflected on his criminal prosecutor background, and his continued efforts to support a freeze of property tax rates.
