DECATUR, Ill. – To help connect job seekers with local employers, state Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, is partnering with Workforce Investment Solutions to host a community job fair on Wednesday, August 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Decatur.
“One of my top priorities as a state representative is helping connect job-seekers in our area with employment opportunities,” said Scherer. “I would encourage anyone who is unemployed, looking to change careers, or just curious about the opportunities available to attend this free job fair.”
This event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring resumes and references. Local businesses and other employment experts will have applications, accept resumes, and provide additional information on programs for the unemployed and underemployed. A total of 40 employers have registered to attend this year’s job fair.
