D’Amico to Host Senior Fraud Prevention Seminar

CHICAGO – State Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago, is hosting a senior fraud prevention seminar on Wednesday, August 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the North Park Village Apartments, located at 5801 N. Pulaski Road Building H in Chicago.

“Far too many seniors have scams and fraud committed against them,” D’Amico said. “My hope is by holding this seminar and keeping our residents informed, we will stop seniors from losing their hard-earned savings.

An expert from the Illinois Attorney General’s office will present the latest and most common scams criminals are using to extract personal information and exploit residents. D’Amico will be available to answer questions and provide an update on Springfield legislation important to seniors.

“Identity theft from seniors occurs far too often, and is devastating every time that it occurs,” D’Amico continued. “I am excited for this seminar so residents can better equip themselves with the knowledge and resources to identify and prevent potential sources of identity theft and fraud.”
