CHICAGO – State Representatives Michael Crawford, D-Chicago, and Lisa Davis, D-Chicago, hosted a Mobile DMV event in their shared district office. Representatives from the Secretary of State’s office and the Treasurer’s office were in attendance.

“While the bulk of our legislative work is done in Springfield, we have to remember to invest in our communities— in our friends and neighbors at home,” said Rep. Davis. “DMV lines can be time-consuming and stressful. This event was a fantastic opportunity to gather in our office so folks could ask any questions folks might have for me, or for the Secretary of State or Treasurer’s offices.

“Almost everyone has experienced the long lines of the DMV that can take anywhere from minutes to hours. Our mobile DMV was able to give some of that time back to the people in our communities, fulfilling their needs and allowing for open conversations about what we, as your state representatives, can do to offer more relief in the future,” said Crawford.

Mobile DMV events provide assistance in registering for REAL IDs, license renewal and registration and to generally be available to answer questions about the services DMVs provide.

“We want to thank everyone who was able to visit us, and encourage you all to reach out if you have any other questions. We hope to hold another event like this soon!” said Davis.

“We’re excited to head back to the capitol after the new year and continue to serve our community and the hard-working people of Illinois,” said Crawford.
