CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – Last week, state Rep. Katie Stuart attended the groundbreaking of Phase Two of Vivian’s Village, an affordable housing development focused on expanding community health through stable housing, access to care and support services.
“Vivian’s Village is more than housing— it’s a model for how stable homes, access to care and supportive services can work together to strengthen community health and well-being,” said Stuart. “This next phase will expand affordable housing options while also increasing access to on-site health and wellness services, helping more families thrive here in St. Clair County.”
Vivian’s Village was created through a partnership between SIHF Healthcare, Metropolitan Housing Development and St. Clair Housing Development. Phase One included 16 supportive one-bedroom units and a community building that provides health services to residents. Moving into Phase Two, additional housing units will be built, and health services will become more widely available, both on-site and through virtual medical visits.
“Thank you to SIHF Healthcare and all the partners involved for their continued commitment to improving lives and building a stronger, healthier community,” said Stuart. “I’m excited to see the positive impact this will have.”
Phase Two of Vivian’s Village is expected to open in 2026.
