BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Continuing her efforts to support the growth of electric vehicles, state Rep. Sharon Chung, D-Bloomington, announced another expanded application round of rebates for EV owners starting October 28.

“A new round of applications for rebates for working people driving electric vehicles is a good opportunity for our community to continue to embrace the economic benefits of the growth of clean energy,” Chung said. “As a manufacturing hub for this emerging technology, we are well- placed to take advantage of a program that has already been very successful. I encourage every working family in the Bloomington area that owns an electric vehicle to apply soon.”

New updates to expand and streamline the popular EV Rebate Program will allow more owners to apply and widen the window of eligibility from the date of vehicle purchase. The application cycle will begin October 28 and go through January 31 or as long as funds last.

Owners are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible to increase the chance of receiving a rebate. For more information and to apply go to
