DES PLAINES, Ill. – State Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, recently announced a petition drive in support of legislation he is backing in Springfield to lower property taxes throughout Illinois, providing a major relief to local homeowners.
“It’s no secret that property taxes have gotten out of control,” Moylan said. “The biggest burden facing my families in my district are their property taxes.”
Moylan voted to cut property taxes for every homeowner and provide additional relief for seniors, veterans and disabled residents. The petition asks residents to stand with Moylan in supporting a property tax cut and urges Governor Rauner to support the legislation to provide real relief to homeowners. Moylan plans to show other lawmakers in Springfield that there are a large number of residents calling for a cut in their property taxes and hopes this may help encourage them to vote in support of legislation that would cut property taxes statewide.
“While going door-to-door, property taxes are often the homeowners’ top concern. It is easy to see the need to bring tax relief to homeowners in my community,” Moylan said. “Please sign my petition to show politicians in Springfield how important it is that we cut property taxes and begin to help build the working and middle-class.”
If you would like to sign the petition, please contact Moylan’s full-time constituent office at 847-635-6821 or email StateRepMoylan@gmail.com.
