Statement from IL Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid on the Governor’s Budget Address:

“I will be reviewing the Governor’s budget proposal in depth to ensure that it protects working families and doesn’t cut critical services and programs.

“At a time when the Trump administration is waging a war on working families, here in Illinois I will fight to invest in programs that uplift our most vulnerable communities – especially immigrant communities. Trump will give billionaires massive tax breaks and stick the rest of us with the bill – making it even more vital that we make sure the wealthy in our state pay their fair share.

“The future success of our state is dependent on how much money we can put back in the pockets of the working class. I look forward to working in a bipartisan way with the Governor Pritzker and my colleagues in the General Assembly to deliver a budget that works for all Illinoisians.”
