CHICAGO — State Rep. Kam Buckner, D-Chicago, joined the Illinois Department of Labor to condemn Trump administration actions to roll back federal minimum wage and overtime protections for millions of in-home healthcare workers.

“Once again, Donald Trump and his lackies are showing that they don’t care about healthcare workers, their families or patients that depend on in-home care. Fair pay for all is a simple principle that this radical administration seems incapable of understanding, and countless Americans will suffer because of that. Not only does removing these safeguards make life harder on millions of professionals and the people they provide for, it will worsen the shortage of caregivers that Illinois and many other states are facing. I stand with the Illinois Department of Labor and numerous states across this country in condemnation of such an unnecessary and destructive action.”
