Hoffman Reacts to Governor’s Budget Address, Urges Balanced Approach that Prioritizes Working Families

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Jay Hoffman, D-Swansea, issued the following statement Wednesday after the governor’s annual budget address:

“There’s no question this will not be an easy budget year, but it’s our responsibility to deliver a final document that prioritizes working families, builds on our recent fiscal progress and prepares us to meet the demands of today and tomorrow.

“We’ve taken significant strides in recent years to strengthen investment in early childhood education, public safety and local infrastructure, and it’s critical we continue to support proven programs that make a difference for families every day. I’m looking forward to reviewing the governor’s proposal in detail, and will be engaging residents and area stakeholders to ensure the Metro East is properly heard.”
