SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Nicolle Grasse, D-Arlington Heights, will lead conversations on public health, expanding access to critical care, and promoting smart government reform like tax relief as a member serving on several key House committees this legislative session.

“Serving on these committees allows me to bring our community’s concerns directly to the table and work on real solutions,” said Grasse. “Whether it’s improving access to affordable health care or prioritizing effective government policies that uplift working families, these roles allow me to ensure state policies reflect the needs of the people who live here — our families, our seniors, and our small businesses.”

Grasse will serve on six House committees, including Human Services and the Appropriations Committee for Health & Human Services — ensuring that favorable legislation on the table receives the necessary funding to be impactful for local and statewide residents. As a member of the Health Care Availability & Access Committee, Grasse will also fight for the expansion of health services to urban and rural families, as well as capping costs for prescriptions and other critical medical supplies that are putting undue financial burdens on hardworking families.

Appointed to Vice Chairman of the State Government Administration Committee, Grasse will oversee legislation that promotes government accountability, transparency and tax relief efforts. Grasse’s participation in the Agriculture & Conservation Committee will also tackle everyday challenges Illinois families face, like food insecurity, and set up Illinois with smart policy that will withstand some of the hardest adversaries caused by climate change.

“Being on these committees means I can work to reduce climbing costs for hardworking parents, protect our farmers from the impacts of climate change, and ensure our government programs actually work for the people they’re meant to serve,” said Grasse. “I’m honored to work with committee members to ensure the policies we pass at the state level have a tangible, positive impact on local residents’ lives.”
