Gordon-Booth to Host ‘A Mother’s Wish’ Holiday Event for Children of Incarcerated Parents and Foster Care Youth

PEORIA, Ill. – State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria, will celebrate children of incarcerated parents and foster care youth at her sixth annual “A Mother’s Wish” holiday event scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. at Warehouse on State, located at 736 SW Washington St. in Peoria.

“This is always a special event because the community comes together to show love and appreciation for these kids,” Gordon-Booth said. “It can be incredibly difficult for children to experience a holiday season and not be with their biological family. But thanks to our community sponsors and volunteers who have stepped up, we’re looking forward to a fun and festive holiday event.”

Children participating in A Mother’s Wish will enjoy hours of games, karaoke, food and more. Thanks to the generosity of community sponsors, attending children will also receive toys and gifts to take home.
