PEORIA, Ill. – State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria, issued the following statement after the announced passing Sunday of Cook County Clerk Karen Yarbrough, former member of the Illinois House:
“Karen Yarbrough was an amazing trailblazer who understood what it meant to serve and put others first. In our time together in the Illinois House, I appreciated her strong values, her spirit and her conviction. I’m heartbroken by this news, but I know that her impact will continue to resonate for years to come.
“I’m honored to have been able to call her my colleague and my friend. Her family is in my prayers.”
