Andrade: Reproductive Reforms Needed to Address Gaps in Care

CHICAGO – State Rep. Jaime Andrade, D-Chicago, responded to Walgreens’ latest announcement that they would begin providing mifepristone in select stores:

“I’m encouraged by today’s developments, and that large corporations that serve millions of people will not bow down to the un-American and regressive voices of a few. In Illinois, we’ve made great strides securing reproductive rights not only here at home but also for those fleeing reproductive injustices in other states. While this is a welcomed development, we can’t let large corporations decide for millions of people whether life saving medication is available or not. We must continue to be proactive in our efforts to support those seeking reproductive care, build on this progress, and fill the gaps in our network of services. Our work is far from over.”
