AURORA, Ill. – State Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is working to help local service providers compete for state grants with an upcoming training for on how to navigate and excel in the grant application process. It will be held at the Santori Public Library, at 101 S. River Street in Aurora, on Tuesday, Nov. 14. There will be a session of the training in English from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a training in Spanish from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
“Aurora is lucky enough to be home to many great organizations that have helped underserved people throughout our community. There are number of grant opportunities available that they can use to fuel their good work, and I hope they use this to learn how to take advantage of those grants,” Hernandez said. “This training will be available in Spanish as well as English so a wider swath of our community’s organizations can benefit.”
The event will be hosted by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, who often focus on helping local organizations proactively build community ties to create better outcomes for at-risk youth. To register, please call 773-924-1755.
