Yang Rohr Secures Improvement Funding for Naperville Public Library

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The 95th Street Naperville Public Library will make needed improvements to public spaces thanks to funding secured in the recent state budget by state Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville. 

“The library has been a wonderful partner to work with to bring these beneficial programs to our community,” said Rep. Yang Rohr. “When I found out there was a need for improvements at the 95th Street location, I was happy to bring that to the negotiating table. Our libraries are critical to the health of our communities. They help connect the community and inspire our youth through educational resources.” 

As part of the state’s budget negotiations, Yang Rohr fought for nearly $158,000 to be used for new flooring and acoustic improvements, modernizing Naperville’s largest library.

Yang Rohr has partnered with Naperville Public Library on numerous community events over the past few years, including connecting the community to invaluable driver services and ID resources at Nichols Library, hosting the Mobile Museum of Tolerance and coordinating multiple shredding events to protect families from identity theft.

“The library benefits from having strong support from our community, including our elected officials,” said Naperville Public Library Executive Director Dave Della Terza. “We appreciate all Rep. Yang Rohr has done to secure this funding for our capital improvement projects. We look forward to using it to continue to provide the citizens of Naperville with exceptional facilities.”

Work on the public space improvements at 95th Street Library is slated to begin in fall 2024.
