DECATUR, Ill. – State Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, will host a town hall to hear from community members and discuss her efforts to fund a new Decatur Public Library Bookmobile. The event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m., in the Decatur Public Library Madden Auditorium at 130 N. Franklin Street in Decatur.
“Bringing a new bookmobile to Decatur has the potential to create opportunities for expanded education and reading to our kids,” Scherer said. “I look forward to hearing from this community on their thoughts on a new bookmobile and how it would shape Decatur’s future.”
Scherer will be joined in the town hall by Rick Meyer, the city librarian; and Karl Coleman, the Decatur Public Library Board president.
“Decatur Public Library is excited about the opportunity to bring back bookmobile services to Decatur,” Meyer said. “We are looking forward to hearing from the community about what those services will look like.”
