ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, in partnership with state Sen. Meg Loughran Cappel, D-Shorewood, and Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, is hosting a community shred day event on Thursday, May 25 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, or until the trucks are full, at 20690 City Center Boulevard in Crest Hill.
“Shredding unnecessary documents with personally identifiable information on them is one of the safest and most effective ways to prevent identity theft and other fraud,” Manley said. “Dealing with identity theft is nothing short of a nightmare, so I invite everyone to take advantage of this free and convenient service.”
At the event, residents will be able to dispose of documents with personal information on them that could make them targets for identity theft, like bank statements, outdated medical records, bills, tax returns, and more.
“Providing useful services to the residents of our community to make their lives easier is an important part of my job as your state representative,” said Manley. “I’m thankful for the partnership of Sen. Cappel and Executive Bertino-Tarrant so we can bring this essential service to our community.”
